Mrs. Katina Smith Obituary

Mrs. Katina Shantell Chandler- Smith, brought a ray of sunshine when she entered the world on February 17, 1978 in Decatur, Alabama. She was known to her loved ones as “Pooh”.

In 1996, she graduated from Central Highschool in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She later relocated to Arlington, Texas and gained employment with General Motors Assembly Arlington, until she departed the earth, on September 9, 2020, in Dallas, Texas.

She brought such joy and happiness to so many with her infectious smile and stern words of encouragement. She worshiped at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church of Lindale, Texas, with her husband. She loved to sing and dance, but most of all spending time with her family. Her greatest accomplishment was becoming a mother and raising her children.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted and dedicated husband, Stanley T. Smith, of Desoto, Texas; her children, Alandria Chandler, Ladarius (Quinteria) Chandler, Ladarryl Chandler, Daijah White, Dominque Smith, and Destiny Smith, all of Arlington, Tx; her parents, Ivette Gresham of Grand Prairie, Tx and Darnell (Karen) Shackelford of Decatur, Al; her siblings, Tera (Conrad) Hardaway, Julia ‘Pinky’ Chandler, both of Tuscaloosa, Al., Darnell Chandler, and Kayden Shackelford, both of Decatur, Al., Darell (Mary) Chandler, of Grand Prairie, Tx.; step-brother, Michael Smith, Mustafa Hytmiah, and Sarladine (Cinnamon) Connally; her precious grandparents, William (Helen) Shackleford; a doting stepmother, Kathleen Smith Fletcher of Madison, Al; her aunts, Vanessa Chandler, Patricia Pearson of Decatur, Al, and Arnell (Ronnie) Scruggs, of Arlington,Tn; her uncles, Donnie (Judy) Greshem, of Harvest, Al ,William (Laura) Shackelford, of Missouri City, Tx, Frederick (Patricia) Shackelford of Decatur, Al., Stanley Shackelford, and Darryl (Sylvia) Shackelford of Houston, Tx.; her mother in laws, Iristene (Luther) Williams of Lindale, Tx and Jean Smith of Tyler, Tx; her stepchildren, Tamara (Isaac) Collier of Houston, Tx, Cristina Hervey of Grand Prairie, Tx, Nicholas Smith and Travishia Hawkins, both of Dallas, Tx., ShaTori Horn, of Arlington, Tx., and Miya Pettigrew Smith of Tyler, Tx.; her grand children, Isiah Chisolm, Kahlia Chandler, Aniyah Chandler, Mia Chandler, and Kyle White; step grandchildren, Daijah Kee, Kyng Manning, Ibreigh Collier, Taylor Collier, and Isaac Collier; her sis-in-law, Stephanie ‘Nickey’ Smith; brother in-law, Vincent Smith, of Lindale, Tx, TyRoderick Pace, of Moore Station, Tx, Lorne Glenn of Dallas, Tx, and Roy Benson of Memphis, Tn.; her longtime and special friends, Margaret Johnson and Teresa Carter; and a host of loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is proceeded in death by Grandmother, Hattie Shackelford; nephew, Octavious Chandler,; father in law, Mac Arthur Smith; stepson, Keonte’ Smith; uncle, Craig Shackelford; and maternal grandparents.
