Mrs. Deirdre Hawkins Obituary

On February 3, 2020, Mrs. Deirdre Michelle Hawkins, transitioned from labor to reward, as she gained her heavenly robe to sing with the angels.

She came into the world on March 4, 1964, as a blessing to parents, Alice Faye Crockett and Earnest Lee Starks, in Texarkana, Texas.

She received her Associates Degree from Henderson State College. As a longtime resident of Longview, Texas, she served  years in the field of education, as a school nurse and teacher and shared her beautiful voice and love of singing throughout her community.  She had the voice of an angel. Mrs. Hawkins and her family were faithful  members of the CME church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earnest Lee Starks, grandmother, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law.

She leaves to hold and cherish her memories: husband, Alton Hawkins; mother, Alice Crockett;  son, Victor Hawkins and his wife and two children; daughter, Debra Hawkins and her son; sister, Yolonda Dixon; nephew, Christian Dixon; brothers, Steven Stans and Micheal Starks; foster son, A.
