1951 ~ 2021 (age 69)

St. John 14:1 says: “Let not your hearts be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Donald Larry Norfleet was born in Detroit, Michigan, June 6, 1951 at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan to the extremely proud Mr. & Mrs. Mance and Viola Norfleet. He was the second of four siblings.

Donald was affectionately known as (Ducky or Duck). His childhood life was always adventurous. His love for antics continued until his passing away on January 9, 2021 and is now at rest Donald knew no strangers, he had two close friends until their passing away.
He spent his summer months at the age of fifteen working with his late Father; Mr. Mance Norfleet, at the Ladera Townhouse in Los Angeles, California. His father was the property manager. It was at that time that his father instilled in Ducky a great and strong work ethic, his father likewise, taught him the value of a dollar.  He worked hard as an excellent painter to pay for his own school clothes.

Yes’ Donald (Ducky) was certainly a person who was debatable and knew how to get his point across; even if it took him a half hour.
Donald really loved his family Gathering on Thanksgiving, this is where the debating would all take place most of the time. This gave him great joy and happiness.

His Father and Mother, Mr. & Mrs. Mance Norfleet preceded him in death, as well as his brother, Arnold Norfleet.

He enjoyed going to concerts and was an avid jazz fan. He was known to tell the hard truth no matter how it was received.
He was educated in the Los Angeles, City School District, attending the following schools: 87th Street Elementary, Horace Mann Junior High and Washington High School.
Donald worked for the County of Los Angeles as a clerk for two years. Later he was employed with the City of Los Angeles until his retirement in 2008. He loved his job and preformed it with great expeditiousness and efficiency. He was well organized and did not believe in wasting time. He knew that time was of the essence and every moment counted.

Donald was always concerned about his family. He greatly loved his loving and devoted wife, Sharon Norfleet to whom he was married for 35 years. Left to morn him are his daughter, Mrs. Nichole Cobb (Royce) of Los Angeles, CA and four step children; Alonzo Colllins-Sandage (John) of Seattle, Washington, David Vincent Collins of Henderson, Texas, Michael Eugene Isaacs II of Ft. Worth, Texas and Ms Jennifer Lee Marsh of Las Vegas, Nevada all of whom he loved dearly; a loving sister, Geneva Houston (Horace Houston) of Los Angeles, California; a loving brother, Ronald Norfleet of San Francisco, California; one sister-in-law, Stephanie Edwards Norfleet of Sacramento, California. He has a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
