Willie Calvin (Hitman) Johnson

Mr. Willie Calvin “Hitman” Johnson was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on September 15, 1956, through the lineage of the late Willie Oliver Johnson and Lovis Brown-Johnson.

He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at the St. Matthew Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, under the leadership of The Reverend T.W. Pope.

Willie Calvin was a graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, class of 1975. In school, he was a member of the band and a vivid athlete where he gained the nickname “Hitman.” While playing football, he later became a star player for the “Cow-Town Cowboys,” a semi-pro team. Mr. Johnson retired from the City of Fort Worth after numerous years of employment and pursued a career with Durham School Service Transportation.

Willie will be remembered for his passion, “Swing-Out and Step Dancing.” He won many contests and later even became a dance instructor. A legend was born...and the rest is history. He was happiest when he was surrounded by the many people he cared about and, if you would dance, he’d dance. And if you didn’t, he’d dance anyway.

Mr. Willie Calvin Johnson departed this life on Monday, March 11, 2019, in Fort Worth, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Janice Marie Johnson.

His memories are cherished by three children, Christine (Morice, Sr.) Blackwell, Willie (KreShon) Johnson III and Ray Anthony (Colecia) Williams; two brothers, Lewis (Vaschelle) Johnson and Anthony (Anita) Johnson; two sisters, Deborah Williams and Flora Johnson McDonald; four grandchildren, De’Andre (Breanna) Trim, Jordan Trim, Morice Blackwell II, and Ray Anthony Williams II; a dear friend and dance partner, Annita Hogan a.k.a. “Lady Champagne”; and a host of other relatives and friends.
