Ms. Norma (Saenz) Rico

Norma Saenz-Rico was born in La Ceiba, Honduras December 13, 1928. She passed away in Kilgore, Texas, on November 8 of this year. Norma married
Santiago Saenz-Rico Duron in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, in 1947. She bore six children. Her parents were Guillermo L Salgado Lobo of Juticalpa, Honduras,
and Maria Laura Antonia Calix Cubas Salgado, also of Juticalpa. Norma’s children are Sandra Saenz-Rico Salgado Conway of Kilgore, Texas,
Santiago Saenz-Rico Salgado of Cancun, Mexico, Roberto Saenz-Rico Salgado of Mexico City, Mexico, Norma Patricia Saenz-Rico Salgado of Toluca, Mexico,
Berta Maria Saenz-Rico Salgado Wong of Lakewood, Colorado, and Jorge Saenz- Rico of Miami, Florida. In addition to these, she is survived by the living spouses
of her children, 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Norma’s parents, husband, an older brother, Edgardo, and her son, Roberto, all
preceeded her in death. She is survived by her other five children, as well as her sisters, Alicia, of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Maria Laura of Tegucigalpa, and Nora of
Laredo, Texas. Qualified as a school teacher through her studies in Honduras, Norma worked later in the retail distribution business. Her husband was an attorney and diplomat for
Mexico. Norma was a citizen of Honduras, Mexico and the United States. Norma emigrated to Mexico after marriage to her husband and resided in Mexico
until she was 71 years of age. She spent some of her early and middle years living abroad due to her husband’s international service. This included living in countries
such as Nicaragua and Costa Rica. She emigrated to the United States in 1984. Norma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She became a US citizen in 2018. Her ancestors include nobility from Spain.
