On December 23, 1959 in Tatum, Texas, (Rusk County) a precious gift was given to M.T. and Juanita James. This baby boy was named Jerry Lamarcus James. He was the eighth of eight children. He grew up and attended public school in Tatum, and graduated from Tatum High School, where he participated football, basketball and track. He later attended Angelo State University and also in the Army National Guard for 6 yrs.
He united with Original Zion Hill Baptist Church at an early age.
He was preceded in death by his parents M.T. and Juanita James, siblings Mack Jr. and Larry Donnell.
Jerry leaves to cherish his loving memories one daughter, Candie Chambers of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Horace (Helen) James of Tatum, TX; four sister, Brenda Humphries, Lonzetta (Clarence) Smith of Houston, TX, Opal Horton of Tatum, TX, Leila Thomas of Humble, TX; one aunt, Ruby (Charles) Jones of Kansas City, MO; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
