Errol Arnaud Obituary

ERROL FRANCIS ARNAUD, son of the late William Ellis Arnaud and Leora Collins Arnaud was born October 10, 1953 in New Orleans , Louisiana. He was the baby boy of eleven siblings. Errol was baptized into the Catholic faith at St. Raymond Catholic Church. He was called home to be with our lord and Savior on June 21, 2018. Errol attended St. Raymond Elementary and St. Augustine Senior High Schools and later graduated from his beloved Alma Mater John McDonogh Senior High School. He married Phyllis Ann Cormier at St. Raymond Catholic Church, August 5, 1972 and they were married 45 years. He was devoted to his wife and would often bring her unexpected gifts. Each year on their anniversary he gave her one rose for each year that they were married, To this marriage two beautiful daughers were born, Malene Arnaud-Davis of New Orleans, LA. and Maya Arnaud of Longview, Texas. To Errol, family was always first and he loved nothing more than seeing his girls succeed which always brought him great joy. Errol was the proud grandfather of Tyee, Kai and Tariq Davis. He loved the fact that he had grandsons and if you met him you knew that because he never missed an opportunity to brag on their accomplishments. Errol entered the United States Coast Guard in 1972 where he served proudly until his retirement in 1992. He was a career service member who achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer ll. His service took him across the United States and his favorite tour was Juneau, Alaska where he was a respected and highly recognized community activist. Errol also enjoyed fishing and many other outdoor activities. After his retirement Errol worked for the State of Alaska as a Merchant Marine until 2006 where he retired for the second time and relocated to Longview, TX. Errol was lifelong Catholic. He loved to pray the Rosary and was a collector of Rosary Beads which he held dear to his heart. Errol was active in the Knights of Peter Claver and Knights of Columbus. Errol had a larger than life personality and he left an impression on everyone that he met. He loved people and was always up for an adventure. Errol was generous with his time and talents. He was dependable and you could always count on him for a pen, battery or leatherman tool. He was a proud member of the "Who Dat Nation" and loved to play bingo. He leaves precious memories that will be cherished forever by his loving wife Phyllis Cormier Arnaud, two daughters Malene Arnaud-Davis and Maya Arnaud, son-in-law Spencer Davis, three grandsons, Tyee, Kai and Tariq Davis; his siblings, Carolyn (Darryl) Hithe, Carrol (Agnes) Arnaud, Emma Thomas, Helen Mackie, Lerna Arnaud, Roland Arnaud, Eric(Jo Ann) Arnaud, Brothers in Law; Ronald Cormier, Andre(Shirley) Cormier, Eric Cormier. Sisters in Law; Cynthia(Otis) Sartin, Sherry(Curtis)Ramee, Denise(Lonnie) Mills, Bridget (Peter) Easaw, Leslie (Ethan) Hayes; life long friend Donald LeBeau, a host of nieces and nephews with a special place in the hearts of his godchildren; Lona Harris, Carla Arnaud, Rashied Cormier and Trevor LeBeau. Errol was preceded in death by his parents William and Leora Arnaud, three siblings. Winifred Paylor, Cecilia James, and Ronald Arnaud.
