Lois Robbinson Obituary

The Life & Legacy of Lois Jean Robbinson

In loving memory of Lois Robbinson, a.k.a. “Pokie” “Mama” (to more than just her children), and “Granny”, was born on February 9, 1948.

Lois was a loving wife and mother who believed in family.  Nothing was more important to her than her family.  If you wanted some good home cooking, she was the one to go to; her home was where the neighborhood loved to eat.  Her favorite colors were purple and blue. She was also known for singing praises to God with her whole heart.

Lois was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at Bethel Temple of Longview, under the leadership of Pastor A. D. Brown, and later coming under the leadership of Bishop N. L. Hinton of Dallas, Texas, then back to Bethel Temple, under Bishop Noel Jones and Bishop Robert L. Evans.  She and her husband started their own ministry at Broken Bread Ministries.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Ervie Lee Brooks; sons, James F. Robbinson and Telley Robbinson; and daughter, Shamiko G. Robbinson.

Lois Robbinson leaves behind to share in the celebration of her life, her husband of 53 years, Bishop James Robbinson; five sons and one daughter, Eric J. Ingram (Casandra) of Dallas, Texas, Tracy Ford (Michelle), Corey Robbinson, Jonathan Robbinson, Demetrius Robbinson and Shatiqua “Teka” Robbinson -  all of Longview, Texas; brothers, Andrew Snyder, Bishop McKinley Ingram (Helen), Coy Brooks, Jr. (Natonia), Derrick Brooks (Angie), and sisters, Essie Wiley and LaTrina Brooks; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, many, many, many more relatives and friends.
